after a couple of days of trying to figure out how to make everything fit (or figuring out what to cut out), i have more or less a plan for the summer.i actually thought it was more or less figured out, but then i was asked to coach people heading overseas at a training this summer. i am now very excited about it, but my first reaction was more to it being in orlando, fl, instead of anything else. (to anyone who lives there, i'm sure it is really a great place -- and i'll have a whole month to find the things i enjoy there. i just would rather be in the mountains, a big city, the beach, or just at home with family & friends, particularly if i'm spending a month in the states. no offense intended.)
so, instead of heading back to the states mid-june, i will head back mid to late may, spend a couple weeks in MO and KS, visiting friends and ministry partners. then i'll head down to FL for a month+, during which i will also make a little trip up to NC for my cousin charlie's wedding. then i'll briefly be back in MO and then head back to madrid.
i will be in madrid a couple days and then head up to rural NW spain to help/observe the new staff training for western europe for a couple weeks. back to madrid for a couple days. and then to morocco with some students for a humanitarian project in tetuán, i believe. there is still the slight possibility that i will help with the camino de santiago, but it is now fairly unlikely. i finish in FL the 12th and would have to rush back to spain (maybe a day in st.louis) and be in rural NW Spain by the 14th. a bit insane even for me.
