"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
“
Be still, and know that I am God.I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah" -- Psalm 46
Last February a friend introduced me to the celtic tradition of praying certain prayers every morning, midday and evening to keep one's mind on God. The past few days as I have gotten up, I find my head a muddle and find it hard to concentrate and to really be still before the Lord. As I pray through these prayers of old, it helps to quiet my heart and helps me to come into the Lord's presence as I agree with these words and add those of my own. So, here it is again. May it be a blessing to you as it has to me and may it help you allow the Lord Jesus to enter every moment of your day and every area of your life. May God be exalted in our lives and in the world. Grace & peace to you today!

Christ, as a light illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield overshadow me.
Christ under me; Christ over me;
Christ beside me on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light; Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me on my left and my right.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
